STOP CANCER, HEAL THE WORLD

Image
STOP CANCER, HEAL THE WORLD My heart goes out to all those out there who are going strong n saying "am not just giving up" its not easy living with the disease in your body n its as much even tougher for your very own care giver who are often your immediate family members. Its economically very draining n particularly so when our very own health facilities are failing us n the situation forcing us to seek medications in far away land, miles away from home with little comfort bcoz it isn't possible for our family members to accompany us n be our source of comfort. I may not be in any position of influence to positively impact policy decision but my prayers are with you all n will always be with you, Please find time n say a word of prayers to all those battling cancer ailment n to their care givers we say Thank you for the concern n sacrifice. More importantly let's encourage each other to go n seek medical advice against that little n possibly suspicious...

We Need to Rethink Livestock Economy

Image
Rethinking livestock Economy. Well there is this talk gaining currency in the market that anyone advocating for rethinking of the livestock economy is an enemy of the pastoralist n that this group of people are in bed with the white who are are driving the conservancy agenda, nothing could be far from the truth. The truth of the matter is this, we truly appreciate our pastoralist n their attendant livestock economy because its has over the years sustained northern Kenya people because its our predominant economic Mainstay, n the meat we enjoy in the other Kenya is because of this genuine effort. But the question no one is asking is what the future holds for us the livestock keepers in the face of the incessant drought as a manifestation of the debilitating climate change, some twenty years ago my family proudly own well over fifty heads of cow but the figure today is nothing to write home about n you may wish to know why, n the answer is simple, the drought n consequent starvat...

WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH OUR CONSTITUTION?

Image
W hat is so wrong with our constitution that the clamour to have it reviewed is engulfing the whole nation by the day? Y ou know this constitution is only ten years old and it was billed just the other day as the most significant development to have ever came from this nation on the constitutional making front after very many failed attempts. T he sons and daughters of this nation made it their business to holistically review our constitutional order and brought up what we have today after so much engagement with everyone, including both the experts and the commoners, who ultimately validated the constitution through a referendum and its promulgation happened in a broad day light, meaning it had everyone's blessing, only for us to be confronted with the new needs to have this same constitutions reviewed. T he question no one is asking or to which an answer is not forthcoming is this " what is so wrong with our constitution that we must urgently review it"  beca...

Kenya, The Home to World's many First.

Image
Kenya, the home to the world’s many first. Undoubtedly Kenya has its own  fair share of social, economic and political problems, but we are also trailblazers in our own right and when all is said and done, we deserve a mention amongst the world’s league of the nation where ingenious ideas of life had and is still coming from. Times are many where the world looked at us sympathetically and even wondered if we could indeed manage to pull ourselves back from the abyss and we’ve  constantly proved them wrong because like every human society we have always had our issues but we’ve not only managed our issues but came out of  it better and sure enough the world respected us for it, because we are indeed the world’s home to many first. Just this Morning the world was treated to the spectacular rare occurrence where one eliud kipchoge broke his own record.  The eliud kipchoge ineos 159 came to pass this morning, he said “ no human is limited” limit only exist in our ...

THE WHY'S OF OUR WORLD

THE WHY's OF  OUR WORLD Contentment is never a uniformly fashioned Bcoz what the world mean to you may not necessarily be the other person's view But its true that the bottomline is as identical as the day n night are They say destiny did long choreographed the pattern of your life N this possibly all in the bid to silence you n contain your protest Bcoz to them crying out is being blasphemous But what I've never understood is why then the emphasis on hardwork If  all it will do is to marry into the predetermined destiny Which we've been so conditioned to believe Its not in my place to challenge deity or question the decision N I as much plead for leniency for my innocent child like questions Bcoz all around me things are so complex that unless I ask I may never know They say such is life Incomprehensible as always Not only for you but for all N possibly bcoz no effort was ever made

ISIOLO COUNTY’S TOURISM POTENTIAL

Image
PROPER THINKING Dear Mr. Governor Obviously we have an endowment that is a serious natural gift, an ornament if successful managed can raise our county’s profile and makes it a serious player in the tourism industry, but its critical we first need to self realise ourselves before we could talk of making any stride and possibly awake our sleeping giant. Isiolo’s potentials is what makes it’s a critical pillar in the country’s vision 2030, a blue print developed to guide Kenya’s intentions to become middle income economy in the near future. Our lodges, the diverse wildlife, the rich cultures of our people and many other products yet to be developed makes us the envied destination in the world but lack of either understanding or goodwill is denying us the privilege to make the so much out of this natures gift. It’s incumbent on us to developed ways of tapping these monumental resources and benefit our economy. What do we need to get right? Marketing Outreach is of essence because o...

NORTHERN KENYA AND DEVOLUTION

The Birth of Nation, Coming of Devolution and the FCDC. The question of when Kenya was born may be seen to be an easier one, but hard at the same time because it’s informed on the individuals different perspective. Undeniably it will take great deal of deliberation for a consensus to be developed on the above question, because there are those who think this nation was born through the hard fought independence battle won on the blood and sweat of the gallant Kenyans who put their life on the life on the line to deliver Kenya and to them Kenya was born in the year 1963 when it gained it’s independence but northerner like myself will dispute this position because, the question of when this nation was born wouldn’t be discussed just on the front of when the independence was achieved, achieving independence was one thing but living the dream was another as the sending home of the white colonial master opened ways for others to continue with the colonialism in different form. Kenyans al...
Kenya's state of Healthcare When this nation gained independence, the founding fathers dedicated themselves to ensuring that we will take three things head on, the three being diseases, illiteracy n food insecurity to ensure Kenya as a nation will be self sustaining and populated with citizens who are health, well educated and free from hunger. But unfortunately fifty plus years after this decree was made, things haven't moved one inch, we are still holding onto the promise. One wonders what came of the much hyped promise, was it that the resources were never made available or the dream was replaced by other concerns? Failing to breath life into the promise has seen Kenya degenerate into abyss as manifested by our broken healthcare. Kenya and the rest of Africa is said to be home to the 97% of the global disease burden but unfortunately has less than three percent of the global health care personnel and one wonders why this is the situation. Even if we were to incre...
Kenya ferry service, shame on you guys. It's a shame of unimaginable magnitude that at this time and age, disaster of whatever nature could strike finding you napping and because of your incompetence and negligence Kenyans are losing their lives. Why did allow relaxing of the safety rules? Where were your rescue teams when this accident happened? For how long would we continue getting  subjected to your incompetence? What is stopping ministry of transport and infrastructure from putting put a bridge to save Kenyans the agony of this poor service? How comes to this minute no action has been taken against the management of the inept Kenya ferry services?? Head must roll n people must be made to pay for the negligence. My heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
